Hyscience Posted: 04 Sep 2013 05:11 AM PDT Michigan State Professor's anti-Republican classroom tirade caught on video: 'They are a bunch of dead white people' who 'raped the country' Posted: 04 Sep 2013 05:29 AM PDT THIS is what our tax dollars are paying for at a public university. And I can't help but wonder if this ass hat has ever ventured over to Detroit or Chicago lately ... cities that have been completely controlled by Democrats for years and years. Meet Michigan State University Professor of Creative Writing William Penn opening his first day of class with an anti-Republican rant:
Via The Blaze: "They don't want to pay (for) your tuition because, who are you? Well to me you are somebody," he continued. Penn then appeared to accuse the Republican party of backing voter identification laws as a plan for "getting black people not to vote." "This country still is full of closet racists," he said. "What do you think is going on in South Carolina and North Carolina. Voter suppression. Its about getting black people not to vote. Why? Because black people tend to vote Democratic." "Why would would Republicans want to do it?" Penn asked. "Because Republicans are not a majority in this country anymore. They are a bunch of dead white people. Or dying white people." Professor Penn is obviously so blinded by his liberal-progressive pro-Democrat bias that he just can't comprehend the fact that the GOP is not against minorities voting, they are against voter fraud which assures that legal voters' votes count. And he is obviously unaware or chooses to ignore the fact that voter I.D. laws have shown to actually increase minority turnout. For example, the actual turnout of Democratic and minority voters went up, not down, in Georgia and Indiana after their voter-ID laws went into effect, and those increases were larger than in many states without voter-ID laws. Every state that has implemented a voter-ID law has also made free IDs available to voters who don't have them. | Obama's Labor Day Lies Posted: 04 Sep 2013 05:20 AM PDT Despite Barack Obama's demagoguery in his weekly Saturday radio address to mark the 131st anniversary of Labor Day, he can't hide from the fact that under Obama American workers are losing ground in unprecedented ways. This includes the fact that more and more Americans workers are being forced to cobble together a living with two or three part-time jobs, if they can get them. | Red Sky (FLAG) At Morning, Sailor Take Warning... Posted: 04 Sep 2013 04:34 AM PDT We are being manipulated and distracted, once again, by the media with a storyline that gives us plenty to chew on, that being, what an egotistical, narcissistic, ignorant, jack*** this president is. More fuel was added yesterday with Boehner and Cantor grabbing onto HO's coat-tails. This alone is enough to keep us busy for days as we wait for "the" vote but until such time we can count on there being other tidbits added to distract. And while we are all looking in the direction we have been pointed in... You have to ask yourself, if this is intended to be "a limited and narrowly targeted attack" why we added two destroyers last week to the three which were already off the coast of Syria? Why is the Nimitz carrier strike group, which includes four destroyers and a cruiser sauntering in that direction? In addition, being staged, the USS San Antonio, an amphibious ship carrying 300 Marines and extensive communications equipment, and the USS Kearsarge, a large-deck amphibious ship which carries 6 AV-8B Harriers, 10-12 V-22 Ospreys and helicopters. More than a few guns there. NOT being reported via the MSM is this - from Freedom Outpost - Russia Arms Syria with Their Most Advanced Anti-Ship Missiles Russia has sold Syria highly advanced rocket launchers, anti-aircraft missiles and anti-ship missiles. In fact, the P-800 Yakhont anti-ship missiles that Russia has equipped Syria with are the most advanced anti-ship missiles that Russia has. When the United States strikes Syria, they might be quite surprised at how hard Syria can hit back. The Syrian military is the most formidable adversary that the U.S. military has tangled with in the Middle East by far. From Syria, P-800 Yakhont anti-ship missiles can cover much of the eastern Mediterranean and can even reach air bases in Cyprus. If the U.S. Navy is not very careful to stay out of range, we could easily see footage of destroyed U.S. naval vessels sinking into the Mediterranean Sea on the evening news. And once the American people see such footage, it will be impossible to stop a full-blown war between the United States and Syria. Syria has highly advanced weapons systems that Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya did not have. Anyone that thinks that we can just sit back and lob cruise missiles at them is being naive. Syria has weapons that "have never before been seen" in the Middle East. The following is from a recent article by Mac Slavo... According to the report from Syrian-based Dam Press and the Dyar Newspaper, the Russians aren't backing off their Syria policy and they are getting ready to double down by supplying Assad's military with weapons the have never before been seen in the middle east. If and when Western forces engage the Syrian army you can be assured that it will be nothing like the 1991 conflict in Iraq when a hundred thousand of Saddam Hussein's soldiers surrendered without firing a shot. Nor will it be a no-fly zone free-for-all where air forces will be able to target military assets as they did in Libya without being challenged. No, this time will be different. Posted below are some excerpts from a translation of the article from Syrian-based Dam Press that Mac Slavo mentioned... The Patriot Missiles will be hit and repealed withS300 SAM [already installed in Syria]. Putin also threatened to deliver the more advanced S400 anti-aircraft missiles ----- He added that Russia will also supply Syria with state-of-the-art 24-Barrell rocket launchers which have a range of 60 km ranked as the most developed artillery weapon of its kind. ----- Putin clearly stated that the Middle East is going to witness a significant change. Syria will be armed with weapons that have never been seen before [in the Middle East] including computer guided smart missiles that never miss their target. He also added that Russia will supply Syria with Skean 5 ground-to-sea missiles that are capable of hitting and sinking any target up to 250 km off the Syrian coast. Read more HERE. The vote might delay, temporarily, but all it will take is one of our ships being sunk by any of this crap and the originally desired intent of war will be begged for. And hidden behind the curtain the real reason behind Hussein Obama's sudden humanity. From News With Views - AMERICA, SYRIA, AND RUSSIA: OPENING THE GATES OF HELL The whole world is reacting to President Obama's decision for America to attack Syria over an alleged chemical attack because Assad's forces had been accused of using chemical weapons several times in the last year, including the August 21st attack in the suburbs of Damascus. However, a number of news analysts such as Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul have called this a "False Flag" attack. The Pentagon is moving a sixth warship armed with cruise missiles to the eastern Mediterranean Sea, giving the U.S. more firepower for a possible attack on Syria in response to alleged use of chemical weapons, a U.S. defense official said. According to reports, the guided-missile destroyer Stout will soon join four other missile-carrying U.S. destroyers within range of Syria. Each destroyer can carry up to 90 cruise missiles which have a range of nearly 1,000 miles. Whether they will acknowledge it in public or not, the international community and the United Nations look to the American Empire to supply its massive military force to solve international conflicts. What is happening in Syria will not only affect America, Russia, Great Britain, China, Syria, Iran, and Israel. It will affect the entire world because Syria, controlling major oil assets off its coast, occupies a critical position in the global oil economy. It is possible for oil prices to go through the roof, and that would send a tsunami across the global economy. There have been reports put out by big banks like SocGen and Goldman Sachs that oil could soar to $150 a barrel if the Syrian conflict goes hot and draws in Russia and China. According to an article by Steve Quayle in his, "V - The Guerrilla Economist Updates," "The trouble for Syria began with two things. First the discovery of natural gas in the Mediterranean right off the coast of Syria, Lebanon and Israel. Read that list again, especially Lebanon and Syria. Is the picture becoming clearer? This discovery took place about a decade ago but the thing is that there already exists in the Middle East a Liquid Natural Gas Producing power house. This is the tiny nation of Qatar." Continue HERE. No. Hussein Obama never drew a "foolish" line in the sand. Like everything else he has done, it was with cold, clear-eyed, evil calculation. | Book: "Clinton's State Department was told Benghazi was a terror attack just minutes after it began" Posted: 03 Sep 2013 07:18 PM PDT Paul Bedard reports at the Washington Examiner that in a forthcoming book, "Under Fire, the Untold Story of the Attack in Benghazi," that provides the fullest review of the assault to date, it's revealed that just minutes after 35 jihadists crashed through the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, nearly one year ago, the facility got word to the State Department, FBI and Pentagon that terrorists were attacking:
[...] Twenty-five minutes after it began, the operation center at State received an electronic cable announcing the attack, according to authors Fred Burton, a former State Diplomatic Security agent and Samuel Katz, an author and expert on international special operations and counterterrorism. Their findings in "Under Fire," based on exclusive interviews of those in the battle, refute days of claims by the administration that the attack was sparked by Muslim anger at a U.S.-made anti-Muslim film, and raise new questions as President Obama eyes military action in Syria that U.S. diplomatic posts in the region are properly protected. The authors note that at the time of the attack in Benghazi there were riots against U.S. embassies in Cairo, Tunis and elsewhere related to the film, "Innocence of Muslims." That could have been the cause of initial confusion about the attackers, but the eyewitness accounts by State and CIA agents in the battle -- backed by live video feeds from drones -- should have erased any doubt. (More here) All this, yet in an effort to save Obama's foreign policy from looking like the spectacular failure that it indeed is, and to cover it up until after the election, the State Department, FBI and Pentagon all went out and lied about this for days, claiming it was all about the "Innocence of Muslims." video. And now the Obama administration wants us to believe what they're telling us about who gassed who in Syria, the why and what we have to do, and that attacking Syria has anything to do with something other than saving Barack Obama from political embarrassment? While there may indeed be good reasons to attack Syria, based on the administration's long and growing record of lies, disinformation, and lack of transparency, common sense dictates a need for being more than just skeptical of what we and our representatives in Congress are being told ... we need to demand proof and a clear-cut strategy with clear objectives that as yet are still absent from the discussion.
| Mort Zuckerman was right ... Posted: 03 Sep 2013 02:59 PM PDT I've been thinking about Syria, Obama's failure to rally support from our allies for an attack, even a "shot across the bow" on Syria, and how likely such an attack is to end up helping al-Qaeda and spread conflict across the region. What comes to mind is what Mort Zuckerman said way back in June 2010 ... that the world sees Obama as incompetent and an amateur: America right now appears to be unreliable to traditional friends, compliant to rivals, and weak to enemies. One renowned Asian leader stated recently at a private dinner in the United States, "We in Asia are convinced that Obama is not strong enough to confront his opponents, but we fear that he is not strong enough to support his friends." So given that in the era of Obama our allies no longer trust us and our enemies no longer fear us, and both our allies and our enemies see our president and his administration as incompetent and amateurish ... little wonder Obama finds himself, and unfortunately our country because of our Obama-era standing in the world ... on the verge of jumping into the abyss of the unknown (in terms of effect and affect). Say what you want about George W. Bush, but as former aid to Margaret Thatcher Nile Gardner wrote at The Telegraph a few days ago, Barack Obama is proving an embarrassing amateur on the world stage compared to George W. Bush: [...] There can be no doubt that David Cameron's defeat in the House of Commons was a huge blow to President Obama, and has dominated the US news networks this morning. The absence of Britain in any American-led military action significantly weakens Obama's position on the world stage, and dramatically undercuts the Obama administration. The vote reflected not only a lack of confidence in the Commons in the prime minister's Syria strategy, it also demonstrated a striking lack of confidence in Barack Obama and US leadership. [...] George W. Bush was a conviction president on foreign policy matters, driven by a clear sense of the national interest. President Bush emphatically made his case to the American people and to the world, explaining why he believed the use of force was necessary, and dozens of countries decided to follow him. In the case of Barack Obama, whose foreign policy has been weak-kneed, confused and strategically incoherent, the president hasn't effectively made the case for military intervention in Syria, and has made no serious effort to cultivate support both at home and abroad. President Bush may not have been greatly loved on the world stage, but he was respected by America's allies, and feared by his enemies. In marked contrast, Obama hasn't generated a lot of respect abroad, and he certainly isn't feared. Think, think about how Barack Obama has significantly damaged America's position in the world, where our economy still stands after 'years' of post-recession 'recovery', and how greatly divided our country now stands. Then ask yourself just how it is that America actually elected a community organizer to the presidency ... twice! | Uh-Oh: CNN caught staging news segments with paid actors Posted: 03 Sep 2013 01:33 PM PDT Those 'friends of Barry's' in the media appear to be at it again, this time it's CNN: The primary "witness" that the mainstream media is using as a source in Syria has been caught staging fake news segments. Recent video evidence proves that "Syria Danny", the supposed activist who has been begging for military intervention on CNN, is really just a paid actor and a liar. There is a catch here, the source is "Friends of Syria" ... so perhaps taking this story with a grain or two of salt may be recommended. | I Stand With McCain on Syria! Posted: 03 Sep 2013 01:19 PM PDT No, not the Obama tool - Senator John McCain, who lacks the good common sense God gave a goose. I mean The Other McCain - Robert Stacy McCain, who does have the good common sense God gave a goose, and much much more ... who asks: "Can We Just Have the Air Force Drop Cable TV News Anchors on Syria?": At this moment, John Kerry is on TV demanding that the United States must now involve itself in the Syrian civil war. No sane person is in favor of this. John McCain is in favor of this. I rest my case. Having made up my mind weeks ago that U.S. involvement in Syria is bad policy, I'm bored to tears by this "debate," knowing that when this noise is over, Congress will vote against involvement. Or maybe they've all gone crazy. Cable TV news networks won't shut up about it, so I'm obligated to blog about Syria, but no one can force me to take it seriously. | Planet Earth to Democrats: Minority turnout increased dramatically after Georgia voter-ID law Posted: 03 Sep 2013 12:50 PM PDT Eric Holder and his fellow leftist Democrats are dead set against voter I.D. laws, forever screaming from the rooftops that voter I.D. laws discriminate against minorities and reduce minority turnout. Well, here's further evidence that Holder and his party are all wrong and that measures that combat ballot fraud do not adversely effect minorities. Over at Erick Erickson's, Martin Knight, an Afro-American, addresses the real reason Democrats oppose Voter ID and sums up the Dems' reasons in a nutshell: ... requiring valid government issued photo ID makes voter fraud more expensive, more logistically tasking, much more likely to be discovered, and much more likely that the perpetrators are going to jail. That, in a nutshell, is why Democrats are so upset about voter ID legislation. It isn't because voter fraud is so rarely caught and prosecuted, it's because they want to keep it that way. Take the time to read Knight's entire piece here. | Sowell: Is Syria all about saving Barack Obama from political embarrassment? Posted: 03 Sep 2013 12:21 PM PDT Thomas Sowell, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, encapsulates the Syria issue with three key questions that need to be addressed but whose answers remain a mystery: "Why are we even talking about taking military action in Syria? What is that military action supposed to accomplish? And what is the probability that it will in fact accomplish whatever that unknown goal might be?" Sowell writes: [...] What is painfully clear from President Obama's actions, inactions and delays is that he is more or less playing it by ear, as to what specifically he is going to do, and when. He is telling us more about what he is not going to do -- that he will not put "boots on the ground," for example -- than about what he will do. All this is happening a year after issuing an ultimatum to the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria against the use of chemical or biological weapons. When the President of the United States issues an ultimatum to another sovereign nation, he should know in advance what he is going to do if that ultimatum is rejected. But that is not the way Barack Obama operates. Like so many people who are masters of lofty words, he does not pay nearly as much attention to mundane realities. Campaigning is his strong suit. Governing is not. ... Read the rest here. As Sowell goes on to offer up what perhaps may be the most important question of all - does an attack on Syria serve some larger purpose than saving Barack Obama from political embarrassment! Then there's this stunner coming from a Democrat lawmaker that goes a long way towards making Sowell's point for him: "Dem Congresswoman: 'Only Reason' I'd Vote to Strike Syria Would Be 'Loyalty' to Obama"
| Syria's Assad says his opposition is 80-90% Al-Qaeda terrorists Posted: 03 Sep 2013 06:30 AM PDT Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad insists that 80-90% of those his forces are fighting belong to al-Qaeda, and they are not interested in reform or in politics. He also says that the only way to deal with them is to annihilate them and that intervention by the West against his army would touch off a regional war, in part because it will provide momentum for terrorist networks. Assad isn't the only one that believes this and al-Qaeda's influence and dominance in the Syrian opposition has been known for some time now. And then we also have UN Chief Ban Ki-moon saying the same thing as Assad, that a strike on Syria could unleash more turmoil (not that we should care or give an ounce of credence to anything coming out of the UN) ... and in this case, for a change, he just may be right. Although Assad's figure of 80-90% may be a bit of a stretch, there's little doubt that the strongest groups comprising the Syrian opposition are indeed linked to al-Qaeda ... and that intervention by the West is more likely than not to touch off further regional conflict. So why in the hell are we planning to attack Assad's forces if not to safe face for our incompetent president whose bungled foreign policy has our enemies laughing at us and our allies slack-jawed!

All Rise Weekly Media Round-up Posted: 03 Sep 2013 09:23 AM PDT All Rise Weekly Media Round-Up NADCP’s communication team is pleased to provide you with a closer look at the widespread impact of Drug Courts and other treatment courts. Below is a sample of last week's media stories from around the nation. Adult Drug Court What’s the future of drug policy? An interview with America’s ‘Drug Czar’ – Washington, DC We’ve worked hard to change the dialogue when it comes to evidence-based criminal justice reform. Expanding programs like drug courts that divert nonviolent offenders into treatment instead of prison is one example. By signing the Fair Sentencing Act into law, President Obama finally reduced the longstanding disparity between crack and powder cocaine sentencing and eliminated the first mandatory minimum drug law in 40 years. Former Forest Lake attorney Robert Rancourt inducted into Drug Court Hall of Fame– Chisago County, MN Chisago County Judge Robert Rancourt was inducted into the Stanley Goldstein Drug Court Hall of Fame in July. The ceremony closed the National Association of Drug Court Professionals annual training conference in Washington, DC. The honor comes as Judge Rancourt completes his two-year tenure as chairman of the NADCP Board of Directors. Drug court grads go from addicts to advocates – Benton County, WA When Melissa Swanger wanted to lose weight years ago, she turned to methamphetamine instead of dieting or the latest fad. The Kennewick woman dropped 60 to 70 pounds. She also lost her home, her car and her kids, and gained two felony charges for possessing drugs. "It ended up destroying my entire life," said Swanger, who had a spotless criminal record up to that point. Deputy Drug Court 'farm' a healthy choice – Hempstead County, AR The Hope—Drug offenders once were sent to the “farm” in Arkansas. Now, in Hempstead County, they go to a “farm” willingly to learn how to grow their own vegetables. Teresa Pribiliski is a counselor for the Adult Probation Office in Southwest Arkansas. She recently began a program which has helped her Drug Court clients as well as the general population in this area understand organic farming and eating healthier. Redline Cleanup Effort – Meridian, MS There's an effort to clean up one of Meridian's most historic districts. About 30 participants from Lauderdale County's Drug Court took to the streets Monday to clean portions of the Redline area, known as the birthplace of Meridian's African-American community. Organizers say the effort is a win-win situation for all involved. DWI Court Sobriety court: Family impact – Ottawa County, MI The disease of alcoholism affects not only the alcoholic, but every member of the family. Many times family members tend to protect the alcoholic from suffering the consequences of their own alcoholic behavior. They blame incidents of bad behavior on account of that person just having a little too much to drink the night before Veterans Treatment Court Veterans Court celebrates first-ever graduation – Clarksville, TN At the Montgomery County Courts Center on Tuesday, Veterans Treatment Court held its first graduation ceremony for four participants who successfully completed the arduous year-old program. Six Veterans Court graduates are honored for battling through depression, addiction and convictions – Cambria County, PA Marine veteran Evan Williams survived four war-torn tours in the Middle East. But the Pittsburgh man’s days in Iraq and Afghanistan left him with both physical and emotional scars that he masked with pain pills and a hard-drinking lifestyle that quickly caught up with him, he said.
