Young children have died or become seriously ill from accidental exposure to a skin patch containing fentanyl, a powerful pain reliever. Marketed under the brand name Duragesic and available as a generic product, the patch is used to treat patients in constant pain by releasing the medicine over the course of three days. On September 23, 2013, FDA approved changes to the Duragesic patch so that the name of the drug and its strength will be printed on the patch in long-lasting ink in a color clearly visible to patients and caregivers, and has asked manufacturers of the generic versions to make the same changes. The previous ink color varied by strength and was not always easy to see. Read this Consumer Update to learn more about reducing the risk of accidental fentanyl exposure.

Brooke Stephanie Wells, 11, pictured right, and below at Legoland in August, 2013, is now classified as a Missing Person after her mother, Sandi Wells, allegedly abducted the child aka "Kanani" who'd just begun 6th grade at La Costa Heights elementary school in Carlsbad, CA.

One's first thought when seeing this story at The Daily Mail titled, "All Muslims leave' order ... then gang target victims who can't name Prophet's mother: Britons caught in crossfire as masked gunmen slaughter 43 in Kenyan mall and terrorists blog attack live on twitter" (warning - VERY GRAPHIC and disturbing images) ... could be that surely the piece must be satire since our president - Barack 'Promoter of Islam' Obama has assured us that "Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism; it is an important part of promoting peace," and that "Islam embodied a religion of peace, fairness and tolerance." Yet only liberals and the gullible, naive, and low-information people that voted for him would think that way. Common sense, reality-based folk of the center-right know better. We also know that all Muslims are not crazed, killers of non-Muslims, and many of us have Muslim friends, but far too many indeed are. And Muslims outside the U.S. are far more likely to support those in the Daily Mail article than the fantasy described by Barack Obama. This having been said, polls show that 40 percent of Muslims in America believe they should not be judged by U.S. law and the Constitution, but by Shariah standards; 46 percent believe those Americans who offer criticism or parodies of Islam should face criminal charges; and one in eight respondents said they think those Americans who criticize or parody Islam should face the death penalty, while another nine percent said they were unsure on the question. Oh, and come to think of it, didn't GW also tell us Islam was a 'religion of peace'! Well, we also knew he was full of crap then too. As for those just slaughtered and maimed in that mall in Kenya ... don't even bother trying to tell them about how peaceful Islam is.
