Shaolin Ch'an, established in 520 C.e. by the Indian minister Tamo, is an extension of Ch'an (Zen) Buddhism committed to the investigation of nature and mankind's spot in our reality. Through the physical investigation of hand to hand fighting we figure out how to stifle our personalities, through the investigation of nature we look for understanding of the solidarity of all life, and through reflective practices we strive to augment the capability of every individual.the OSC was brought to the United States and (quickly) Canada starting in 1902, as the most senior echelon of Shaolin friars fled the confusion and devastation of the Boxer Rebellion, the end of the Chinese Empire, the Warlord Period, and the cleanses of socialism.
