Heavenly Lake, Xinjiang

Brilliant Lake is placed half far up Bogda Peak in Fukang County, 110km east of Urumqi City, Xinjiang Province. As a characteristic elevated lake, it has a height of 1,980 meters. Fit as a fiddle of a half moon, the lake is 3,400 meters in length, about 1,500 meters wide, and 105 meters at the deepest point. With limpid water, the lake sparkles like a sapphire under the sun and is encompassed by green mountains. At the southeast end of the lake is the brilliant Bogda Peak, signifying "Sacrosanct Mountain" in the Mongolian dialect.

The Heaven Lake beautiful region could be isolated into four common perspective cinchs: lower mountain cinch, mountain coniferous backwoods sash, snow capped and subalpine sash, and ice and snow sash.
